Feature and Follow Friday #1

This meme is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View and the idea is to gain new followers and make new friends! :)

This week's featured blogs are The Mile Long Bookshelf and Hardcore Heroines. Go check them out!

How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

I don't like not finishing books so I usually try to power through it. I feel bad about not finishing something that I spent money on and I feel really guilty when I don't finish a book that I was offered, whether I was offered by the author or by someone else.
In case there is a book that I am really hating I usually put it aside and try to get back to it some time later (it can weeks, onths or years but I'll get back to it...eventually! haha)

But really, anyway you follow is good! :)

What about you? What do you do if you hate a certain book?

  1. I try harder to finish the books I've purchased, but if it's a borrowed book or a freebie, I don't try as hard.

    1. Yeah, I guess that if it was a free ebook from Amazon, for example I wouldn't feel too guilty about not finishing it (I would still try to get back to it though...)

    1. Yeah, I understand...it can be quite tough to power through something that you don't like...that's why I sometimes drop a book for a certain amout of time and try to get back to it on another time :)

      Thank you :)

  4. Usually I will give a book 50-100 pages before I DNF if I'm not enjoying it. I used to power through but I no longer have the time and it turned reading into a chore. There are too many books on my tbr pile for me to feel guilty and I'm picky about what I read, so only have 1 DNF so far!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! Maybe I should start doing that...too much to read, too little time! I guess I'll have to work on that haha :)

  5. Great answer Joana. I really do feel the same, especially books I've purchased. I'm stuck between wanting to power through, but not really having time. So I try to choose my books as carefully as I can.
